Thanks Google!

Because i'm a bit of a nerd, i was looking at the various pages that linked people over to my blog. The latest was a google search for "funny cussing" (8th down on the list, not bad!). Naturally i wanted to see what the internet defines as funny, so i clicked on one site, then proceeded to read about the latest missions fund drive campaign. i laughed, so i figured i'd share.

Actually, I prefer the "scare the crap (and money) out of the congregation" tactic. In fact, I think they should take headshots of congregation members and create a slideshow with their faces ablaze in the fires of hell and subtly suggest that it's where they're going if they don't make a sizeable and generous donation in a timely fashion. I mean, how on earth can we expect to fund the over 50's dinners at IHOP if we don't get a little forceful with our methods? Afterall, if we didn't twist a few arms we'd be in big trouble... it's not like God could provide the money... create the universe, yes, but conjure up money when His church needs it? I mean, can we really trust Him with that? :) (Please note the sarcasm!) Yeah, I have a little bit of a problem with fund drives... Although I laughed at a quote I once heard... "God has plenty of money... unfortunately some some of it's in your wallets."

well, we'll have little chiperoo to do all the special forces 'convincing' shortly. i can picture him now with some short red stubble peeking out over his entire face and head, 'meeting with' a 43 year old, balding, slightly overweight man in a submission hold, yelling various unintelligible noises at random intervals, causing said parishoner to jerk wildly, coaxing the checkbook from his rear pocket. His terrified wife will no doubt support any "ministry" we can conjure up in order to get our ape-like relative away from her helpless husband, multiplied by the sight of her horror stricken offspring which chip has tied to a nearby pew so they would have to watch their father endure this "support meeting". i miss that guy.

Yeah, man, when are you going to update this thing? You've got plenty of material with TBRC alone.

Sad day, that link doesn't work.

You are #3 when I search for "funny cussing", moving up in the world. Makes you wonder if that's a good thing to be known for...
